| Within rural Australia, a range of models of ministry is emerging as demographic and economic changes are forcing congregations to re-think how effective ministry can be conducted.
Lay leadership teams have exercised ministry in rural Uniting churches in South Australia for at least 15 years. How are they faring? What resources are needed for effective lay leadership? How are these churches relating to their communities?
The research, ultimately, asks the question: do different leadership and organisational models effect rural church health and wellbeing, and their contribution to the wider community?
This paper is the first in a series of studies on rural churches in Australia conducted by CRA.
